United States Air Force Auxiliary, CAP
Best known as the Civil Air Patrol and established as an extension of the United States Army Air Corps just prior to WWII, the organization was later assigned as a force multiplier within the United States Air Force as their Auxiliary. CAP is an integral component of the homeland security efforts and performs over 90% of all the aerial, in-land search and rescue within the continental United States. If you have a desire to serve the country within a non-combat capacity, please visit the Civil Air Patrol official website.
